COACHES

In order to receive certification through the NDCCA, a cheer team coach must be the true coach of a cheer team and must attend and run all team practices.  The coach must assume full responsibility for that particular cheer team.  They must be listed by their school as that specific team's coach.

The cheer team coach must also follow these steps:

  • The coach must take and the ASEP First Aid and ND Stunting Class.

  • A copy of the ASEP certificate must be mailed to the NDCCA to be kept on file.

  • Cheerleaders of the coach to be certified must attend an approved cheer camp held by the bona-fide cheerleading company annually.

  • An NDCCA update form must be completed annually and signed by both the cheer coach and an administrator of that school.

  • The update form must be mailed to the NDCCA office before November 1st to prevent a penalty fee.  Late Update forms will not be accepted without the penalty fee.

In a school that has multiple cheer coaches, each team that is going to be stunting needs to have a certified cheer coach (as defined above) listed, and be recognized by their school as the stunting team's cheer coach.
