NDCCA Competition

Jump - Off

The Jump Off division is an individual event designed to showcase an athlete’s jump difficulty, technique, execution, and overall presentation.

Jump Off Division Rules
  1. Athletes will compete individually and will be judged using the official NDCCA Jump Off score sheet.

  2. There will be separate Class AA Varsity, Class A/B Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Middle School Jump Off divisions, provided there are at least 3 competitors in each division.

  3. Athletes will rally onto the performance area when their name is called.

  4. Each athlete must perform 3 jumps:

    1. One toe touch is required.

    2. The remaining two jumps are the athlete's choice.

    3. Jumps do not need to be connected, but they may be.

  5. Tumbling is not allowed in the Jump Off division.

  6. If an athlete performs too few or too many jumps, the athlete will be disqualified.

  7. After completing their jumps, the athlete will rally off the performance area.

Jump Off Scoring

Difficulty

  • Highest Difficulty — 8–10 points: Toe Touch, Front Hurdle, Pike

  • Mid-Range Difficulty — 5–7 points: Right/Left Hurdle

  • Low Difficulty — 1–4 points: T-Jump, Tuck Jump, Spread Eagle

Technique

  • Pointed Toes — 2 points

  • Arm Placement — 2 points

  • Height — 2 points

  • Landing — 2 points

  • Head & Chest Placement — 2 points

Overall Impression

  • Based on the overall score, as well as overall creativity and poise.
