North Dakota Spirit Rules

North Dakota follows the National Federation of State High School Association's Spirit Rules, in addition to the following:

Each head coach must attend an NDCCA rules clinics required by NDHSAA.

To be eligible to stunt you must meet all NDCCA certifications requirements, please refer to the Coach Certification page.
-If the requirements are not met, cheer squads cannot stunt more than waist high. -
Certified coaches are encouraged to report a school/squad that is not in compliance with the rules of cheerleading as stated.
Spirit Rules Test
Please take the Spirit Rules Test for 2026 with the link below! There will be 65 questions total, in which you need to answer 52 questions correctly, passing with an 80%. Once you have entered the test you must finish in one sitting. If you would like to print the spirit rules test to study, please download the Spirit Rules Test Questions 2026-2027.
You will not need to submit a certificate. Your score will come directly to us. If you pass you will not need to retake.
